Mango holidays group holidays for families
Mango Holiday group fun
You will find a Mango group consists of a group of like-minded people. This will enable your children to have a group of friends to socialise with but you too will be able to have some adult conversation and make friends with other single parents who will share many of your experiences.
All our holidays are accompanied or hosted by a Tour Leader. Mango tour leaders are there to organise the activities and visits and to ensure the holiday runs smoothly.
Mango Group Holidays
We believe the group format of our Mango family holidays is perfect to ensure that parents can spend quality time with their children but also that they get chance to socialise with other adults whilst their children have fun with other children. This format is perfect for single parent families and 90% of families who book with us are single parent families.
Single parent families
The group holiday format provides the perfect holiday style for single parent families who can have adult company whilst their children have fun with other children. 90% of families who book with us are single parent families. Some of our holidays are dedicated single parent family holidays – see our Italy ski trip and our Devon holiday.
A reduction for all children up to 14 (and sometimes above)
Most of our holidays have a reduced price for children aged up to 14 sometimes we also have a reduction for children up to 16.
Our Price Promise

If you book later and especially if you book within 8 weeks of travel, you are more likely to be asked to pay a flight supplement.
Protecting your money
Mango Holidays is a fully ATOL bonded Tour Operator (License number 6200). Visit the Civil Aviation website to check out at www.caa.co.uk. This protection ensures that if you have booked a holiday package with flight, the Civil Aviation Authority will refund your money in full if we should cease to operate before your departure and if we should cease to operate whilst you are overseas, they will enable you to complete your holiday and repatriate you back to the UK.
In addition, in compliance with the UK’s Package Tour Regulations, your money is held in a Trust Account and is only released once you have completed your holiday. This protects your money for any holiday, whether in the UK or overseas.
In order to make more holidays available some of our holidays are shared with other companies. These holidays are also open to couples with children so on some of our holidays there may be a mixture of single parent and two parent families. These holidays will still be group holidays and will have a coordinator with the group. These holidays are more activity biased and the group leaders and activity leaders and usually locally-based. If you are concerned about the group composition you can always enquire as to the group composition before you book your holiday.
Who owns Mango Holidays?
Mango Holidays was set up and is owned and run by Jackie Lewis and Steve Barber. In 2001 Jackie and Steve gave up their jobs and set up a walking holiday company. They thought the group holiday format offered on the walking trips would be an ideal formula for families and their children. So they then launched Mango Holidays initially as a dedicated single parent holiday company but later including some holidays for both one and two parent families. As with all group holidays it’s all about having fun together. And for single parent families this is a great way to ensure that both the children and the parents can make friends and enjoy their holiday.
Photography Holidays for singles and solo travellers
Our sister website for adults, Ventura Holidays www.venturaholidays.co.uk offers Photo Workshop Tours and Photographer Walking Tours. These holidays are especially good for single and solo travellers with around 80% of the participants being solo travellers.
