About Mango
Mango holidays group holidays for single parent families
Mango co-ordinators
Mango coordinators are often single with kids and usually are accompanied by their children on the holiday. Mango coordinators are social co-ordinators not just a holiday rep. As well as being there to help with organising trips and liaising with the hotel and sorting out transport, the Mango coordinator has the same commitment as us to ensuring that eveyone's holiday runs as smoothly as possible and you and your children have a great time. They are part of the group and as well as organising the activities they also join in and then meet up with the group before dinner. You can choose if you want to stay with the group the whole time or if you feel like doing your own thing any time there is no compulsion to join in the group - it is up to you.
We are grateful to our team of Mango co-ordinators, who help to make your single parent holiday special.
Mango Holiday group fun
You will find a Mango group consists of a group of like-minded people. This will enable your children to have a group of friends to socialise with but you too will be able to have some adult conversation and make friends with other single parents who will share many of your experiences.
Mango Group Holidays
We believe the group format of our Mango single parent holidays is unique. There are several other companies offering holidays for single parent families and a few which are dedicated to single parent families. But what is unique is that our Mango coordinator is a social coordinator ensuring that everyone is able to join in with the group and particpates in most of the group activities. Our coordinators are not just holiday reps or hostesses. The Mango coordinator and their children are an integral part of the group.
A reduction for all children up to 16 (and sometimes above)
Most of our holidays have a price for children aged 2-11 and a price for a child 12-16 as well as an Adult rate. Even where we do not get a reduction from the hotel and the airline, we always try to make sure we reduce the price for all children. Children under 2 get special rates, which vary from one destination to another.
Our Price Promise
First of all there are no hidden costs of our holidays, we will always provide you with the details of the cost of the holiday and this will not increase once you have booked your holiday. If you book early, you can benefit from a discount and be able to pay your deposit in 2 stages, rather than all at once. If after you have booked your holiday, for some reason, we reduce the price of the holiday, then we will pass this reduction onto you and send you a revised invoice. So those who book first are guaranteed to pay the least. If you book early, we will do our best to find you a flight from your local airport with no flight supplement.
If you book later and especially if you book with 8 weeks of travel, you are more likely to be asked to pay a flight supplement.
Protecting your money
Mango Holidays is a fully ATOL bonded Tour Operator (License number 6200). Visit the Civil Aviation website to check out at www.caa.co.uk. This protection ensures that if you have booked a holiday package with flight, the Civil Aviation Authority will refund your money in full if we should cease to operate before your departure and if we should cease to operate whilst you are overseas, they will enable you to complete your holiday and repatriate you back to the UK.
In addition, in compliance with the UK's Package Tour Regulations, your money is held in a Trust Account and is only released once you have completed your holiday. This protects your money for any holiday, whether in the UK or overseas.
Who owns Mango Holidays?
Mango Holidays was set up and is owned and run by Jackie Lewis and Steve Barber. Both Jackie and Steve have been single parents themselves and thought there was a need for holidays specifically designed for single parent families. In 2001 Jackie and Steve had set up a walking holiday company, Tracks n Trips. They thought the group holiday format offered on the walking trips would be an ideal formula for single parents and their children. As with all group holidays its all about having fun together. And for single parent families this is a great way to ensure that both the children and the parents can make friends and enjoy their holiday.
Holidays for singles and solos
It soon became apparent that many of the people on the walking holidays were single or solo travellers and also that Mango mums and dads sometimes wanted to have weekend breaks and holidays without the children. So it was a natural step for Jackie and Steve to launch a programme of holidays specially for single and solo travellers. Ventura Holidays www.venturaholidays.co.uk offers parents only weekend breaks, mostly walking and photography and also a programme of holidays, including walking, photography, skiing, cycling, rafting, kayaking, sailing, canyoning and much more.
