We take great pleasure in introducing you to this beautiful and friendly country bordered by Austria and Italy. The scenery like its neighbours is Alpine but the Slovenia Alps are less well-known and therefore less touristy. The resort we have chosen lies in the Bohinj valley at the foot of the Julian Alps and on the shores of Lake Bohinj. The nearby village of Stara Fuzina can be visited with its Austrian style chalets, beautiful displays of flowers and the sound of cow bells on the surrounding hillsides. This destination is a paradise for those who love the outdoors with endless activities on offer to while away the balmy days. We can picnic and sunbathe on the meadows by the side of the lake whilst the children take a dip in its crystal clear waters. We can hire bikes and cycle to nearby villages. For the more adventurous there are mountain bike trails, an Adrelin Park with a high ropes course, a chance to learn how to Kayak, try canyoning, climbing, paragliding or have a go at Hydrospeed. There's a Water Park at nearby Bohinjski Bistrica. You can learn to fish in the river and lake, where you can see the trout swimming in the crystal clear waters. The children and I thoroughly enjoyed Slovenia. For starters the scenery was spectacular. It was a very outdoor holiday with organised activities each day. This idea was great because we had something organised for the children every day. We went mountain biking, walking, and visited the beautiful lakes of Bohinj and Bled which were stunning and Slovenia had such breathtaking scenery as a backdrop to the activities we did. We also went white water rafting this was such a great experience for us all. It was great in the afternoons to spend time relaxing by the lake sunbathing and chatting. We stayed in a pension who were a family run business they provided us with local and traditional food which the adults and children enjoyed equally. It was a simple holiday with lots of fresh air and fun.
We can take the ferry boat across the lake at Bohinj and take an easy amble back around the beautiful shores. We can visit the Savica waterfall. "Its water bursts from the under the ground of the Dolina sedmerih jezer (The Seven Triglav Lakes Valley) through the walls of Komara at Savica Waterfall, which is the most famous Slovenian waterfall. The Savica falls almost 51 meters into a natural basin. We will have easy access to local bus services where we can visit Lake Bled and its medieval castle. We can take a boat trip or if you prefer you can hire a boat and row across Lake Bled to the island and its picturesque church. We can take a ride on the little tourist train around the lake. For the more adventurous you can have a go at hurtling downhill on the luge! Once visited, never forgotten - Slovenia, heaven on earth!

Mango Holidays sometimes referred to as MangoKids run holidays for single parents with their children. Small families with just one or two children are often penalised by the big tour operators who charge for two adults. Mango is the only tour operator to offer a discount to these small families for all children up to the age of 16 travelling with just one adult. Going on a Mango Holiday is an opportunity for single parents to meet other single parents and many single parents become friends and stay in touch after their holiday. Mango is not a single parent dating organisation. If you are interested in single parent dating you should check out our links page, which recommends a few organisations helping single parents meet. Being single with kids can be a daunting experience but it can be fun and we have designed a programme of holidays and weekend breaks for solo travellers with children to make sure they have some fun. Our solo holidays for single parents with children consist of adventure and activity breaks, ski holidays and holidays in the sun. Mango single parent holidays take place in the UK and overseas. In the UK we have holidays in Devon, Brecon Beacons and Pembrokeshire and we have a Christmas Party weekend in Warwickshire at the end of November. Mango holidays for single parent families overseas travel to Mallorca, Malta, Cyprus, Jersey, Morocco and Lapland to see Santa.
