Easter Holidays or October Half Term

Go behind-the-scenes and visit the fabulous array of beautiful sets, costumes and props of your favourite film series. If you want to be privvy to closely guarded secrets and learn how the special effects and animatronics were made visit Warner Bros Leavesden Studios and find out.

Just some of the things you can expect to see and do:

*Step inside and discover the Great Hall. You will walk on the solid York stone floor laid 11 years ago, see the solid oak and pine house tables that were built for the films and aged with axes and chains. You will discover the graffiti carved into the tables by Hogwarts pupils. You can also learn about the unique house points bead system that was said to have caused a national bead shortage when it was first installed back in 2000.

*Explore Dumbledores office and discover never-before-seen treasures. Here you can see the authentic Sword of Gryffindor, the Sorting Hat and the Hogwarts headmaster portraits.

*Step onto the famous cobbles of Diagon Alley, featuring the shop fronts of Ollivanders wand shop, Flourish and Blotts, the Weasleys; Wizard Wheezes, Gringotts Wizarding Bank and Eeylops Owl Emporium.

*See iconic props from the films, including Harrys Nimbus 2000 and Hagrids motorcycle. In the Weasley kitchen, you will learn about the amazing craftsmanship of real life special effects props like Molly Weasleys self-washing frying pan, knitting needles and chopping knives. You can explore Hagrids hut, see his famous motorcycle and learn how his larger-than-life character was realised on screen.

*Learn how creatures were brought to life with green screen effects, animatronics and life-sized models. You will discover how green-screen technology helped create many iconic sequences for the films, including the spectacular Quidditch matches. You will see Harrys Nimbus 2000 and Draco Malfoys Nimbus 2001, plus Harrys treasured Firebolt, given to him by his godfather Sirius Black.

*Rediscover other memorable sets from the film series, including the Gryffindor common room, the boys dormitory, Hagrids hut,Potions classroom and Professor Umbridges office at the Ministry of Magic. You will come face-to-face with Buckbeak the Hippogriff, the giant and terrifying spider Aragog, Fawkes the phoenix and the giant head of the Basilisk.

Our Accommodation

We will be staying at the De Vere Hunton Park, Leavesden within easy reach of the Warner Bros Studios. Your break is based on a half board basis staying in ensuite accommodation with tea and coffee making facilities. Set in 22 acres of landscaped gardens, the hotel leisure facilities include an 18-hole putting green & indoor swimming pool.

Your Mango co-ordinator will be on site to ensure that your break is as enjoyable as possible. We will meet in the evening before dinner and all go in to eat together in the dining room.
