The popular resort of Borovets is the oldest and largest ski resort in Bulgaria, nestling in the Rila Mountains and an ideal destination for both beginner and intermediate skier. Borovets sits at an altitude of 1300m with the highest ski run at an altitude of 2560m. The resort is just 70km from the airport in Sofia so offers a reasonably short transfer time of less than 2 hours. The resort offers excellent conditions for skiing and snowboarding.

Fantastic ski area

Borovets is a vast ski area offering beautiful long wide tree lined runs back to the resort. The resort offer 58Km of pistes, 4 Black, 13 Red and 8 Blue runs to suit all abilities. (See the gallery for a Piste map).

Our Accommodation

We will be staying half board in the 4 star hotel Rila, a traditional Alpine stye hotel situated at the base of the ski slope, making it a ski in /ski out hotel. The hotel was completely renovated in 2001 and has twin, triple and quadruple rooms, all with balconies, telephone, radio and satelite TV. Evening meals are 3 course buffet style with plenty of choice for all courses with vegetarian options and a hot and cold buffet breakfast. After a day on the slopes, you can retreat to the hotel's swimming pool or soothe you aching muscles in the sauna, jacuzzi, solariun or steam room. (Extra charges apply for some services). There is also a fitness room as well as shops, a bar, a hairdressers and a nightclub. There is a ski Kindergarten for younger children.

Ski or Snowboard

Borovets offers skiing, snowboarding, ski Kindergarten and Nursery

Children aged 4-6yrs can join the ski kindergarten, which includes supervision throughout the day, games, entertainment, ski pack (skis, boot, poles and 2 hours tuition daily in restricted area, 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon). children aged 4 and under can join the nursery, which includes supervision throughout the day. Mango Holiday Fun

The trip will be accompanied by a Mango coordinator who will organise the groups collection of ski equipment and liaise with the ski instructors. We will meet up in the bar before going into dinner together and can reflect on our day on the slopes over a drink.
